Sarah Godwin is the new manager of Longlands Care Home in Daventry. Sarah joined the team in September, and brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge. Sarah trained as a registered nurse at the Royal Free Hospital in London over 31 years ago. She has since worked in a variety of areas including caring for older people living with dementia. She leaves the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford to join us, where she has worked for the past 17 years as an Operational Manager.
Sarah says, “I have always loved working with older people and I believe that quality of life is paramount as we age. I have a special interest in caring for people living with dementia and have undertaken several courses in this area. I am looking forward to meeting the needs of the residents at Longlands, and delivering high quality care for everyone who uses our service.”
Sarah will lead a team of 70 staff who provide high quality care. By Sarah’s side will be local lady Lisa Duffy. Lisa joined Longlands 11 years ago as a support worker and has worked hard to become the Deputy Manager. Operations manager Barbara Hadley said: “Longlands is part of the Shaw healthcare portfolio throughout Northamptonshire. The service changed from a rehabilitation and respite centre to a care home three years ago. Our latest CQC rating in September was an overall GOOD for this home
and I am confident Sarah will lead this service well.”
If you are interested in our care services, please contact Sarah or Lisa, who will be happy to help or arrange a visit.
