It was a cracking comedy night at the Old King’s Head in Long Buckby last night! For £25 a two course meal was included with a choice of four lovely mains and three puds followed by a brilliant night of entertainment by four comedians in a lovely pub atmosphere.
Pete ( from Wellingborough ) the compare got the night started with party poppers and dishing out animal masks to the wary audience which then turned into a great game of guess the pub from the drawings done by Pete! The best being Jim Morrison and a clock saying 6pm – Early Doors being the correct answer by someone covered in a giraffe mask and fellow guests !!
Laugh out loud
Friz Frizzle and his musical comedy was the first act with hilarious renditions of well known pop songs tweeked to Friz’s own lyrics which had us in stiches especially OMC’s hit changing to ‘Owl Bizaar’ after a lot of Harry Potter references. Friz Frizzle has been invited back to perform at the beer and music festival in September!
The headline act was the brilliant Australian comedian Adam Vincent who is a writer for the channel 4 show ‘The Last Leg’ and was a key player in the shows BAFTA winning coverage of the 2012 Paralympics. Adam was a superb way to end a very funny night, sending us away with aching jaws.
The Old Kings Heads next comedy night is Thursday 14th June and there are tables of 6, 4, 4, 4 and 2 available! Payment in advance for tickets – £25 per person which includes a 2 course meal, 4 comedians and a great night out with friends at the pub! Cheers!
