For over 35 years LNBP Community Boating at Braunston has introduced a wealth of community groups and organisations from the local and regional area to the beauty and pleasure of the canals of Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
And they invite you and your group to come along, climb aboard and also sample the many delights, benefits and fantastic experience that canal boating offers.
LNBP Community Boating are a registered charity run by volunteers who provide the opportunity for a wide range of community groups and organisations to enjoy affordable canal boating trips and short break holidays. These groups and organisations include:-
• the Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadets and other uniformed organisations and associations
• Youth social groups and projects
• Senior and veteran clubs, associations and retirement groups
• Women’s Institute, U3A and Ramblers
• Groups and organisations working with those with special needs and disabilities
• Schools and colleges
LNBP Community Boating have two boats available for hire which are moored at Braunston near Daventry in Northants, close to the historic junction of the Grand Union and Oxford Canals. Both 12-berth boats are comprehensively fitted out with a modern well-equipped galley complete with kitchen, toilets, shower, central heating and three separate cabins, plus a separate skipper’s cabin.
And there is no need to worry about steering the boat. Both boats are also made available with an experienced and fully-qualified skipper who takes responsibility for the running of the boat and also provides training on its handling if required.
Braunston is a great departure point with so many routes and destinations to choose from depending on your length of trip. And so much to see, enjoy and experience. There is the option of overnight trips which allow plenty of time to capture the immediate beauty and local history of the local border countryside. Beyond that, trips of two, five or up to 10 days can take you to explore as far afield as Coventry and Birmingham; Leicester and Foxton Locks, Northampton, Stoke Bruerne and Milton Keynes; and Banbury and Oxford.
So why not think about bringing your group along to experience the beauty and life on our local canals this summer and autumn.
